Your Quick & Simple Review: “Kajillionaire”

It’s not often that I come across a film that almost everyone loves and I don’t.  But, that’s exactly the case with the new movie, Kajillionaire.  It has a pretty good cast, led by Evan Rachel Wood, however, the story itself left me bored and constantly watching the clock hoping it would be over soon.

Now there was some good to this, but not enough to make me like it.   Evan Rachel Wood as Old Dolio, yup, that’s her character’s name, was pleasant to watch.  The odd character she brought to life was done well, and at times I almost felt some sort of sorrowful emotion for the character.  The life she lived with her good for nothing parents (Richard Jenkins & Debra Winger), almost made you feel sorry for her.  But again, the story surrounding her kept me from getting there.

Even though I consider myself to be a very patient person, Kajillionaire tested that patience.  It’s a coming of age movie that made me want to shout at the screen and yell, Hurry Up Already!!!

Granted this movie wasn’t my cup of tea, you might think otherwise.  To each there own they say.  So if you’d like to see it, you can this weekend, as it’s playing in select theaters across the valley.
