Your Quick & Simple Review: “Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm”

Let’s start this one off by saying, this isn’t gonna be a movie for everyone.  However, if you’re like me, and like raunchy stupid humor comedy, then the new Borat Subsequent Moviefilm is for you.  And to be honest, I haven’t enjoyed & laughed this much at any film I’ve seen this year.

Even though we knew what to expect from Borat (Sacha Baron Cohen), the new story and “victims”, were still hilarious.  I think what helped with that was his new co-star, his daughter, Sandra Jessica Parker Sagdiyev (Maria Bakalova).   Every scene she was in, she pretty much stole it.  With her addition, instead of a film filled with skits, like in the first film, they were able to create a real narrative that will keep those watching entertained the entire time.

I think the biggest surprise, for me, was when we saw the local people, who became part of the story, just accept Borat for who he is.  Although they may have thought he was a lil off, they still befriended him.  And one of those people, Judith Dim Evans, had the most heartwarming moment of the film.

As I said, this won’t be a movie for everyone.  A lot of the subjects that they touch on are serious, however, Borat has a large following of fans.  Those fans understand the level of raunchy & inappropriate humor they’re getting and will enjoy it by watching it for the comedic film it’s meant to be.

Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm is now playing on Amazon Prime Video.
